Antique deconstructed iron back armchair
Description
Antique deconstructed iron back armchair
Home Barn’s antique deconstructed iron back armchair dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s.  The seats are traditionally upholstered and the original springs and horsehair fillings are cleaned and reapplied where possible.  The seat height of these antique chairs is very low as they were used by the fireside.  Historically even dining chairs of this period were very much lower.
Originally the iron parts would have been upholstered. The newly exposed cast ironwork is hand forged and beautifully sculptural, showing signs of being worked in the bellow and on the anvil. The chair sits upon beautiful hand-turned legs and original castors. This chair has the modern rustic look in spades.
The seat area has been covered in newly applied cotton linen.
Perfect for the country style kitchen or living room.
