Antique Italian Chiminea Preserve Pot Large | B

Dating from the early 19th Century our antique Italian Chiminea are found in Puglia in the south of Italy. Each one is handmade and unique with a distinctive and imperfect glaze. These beautiful pots are often affectionately named ‘top hats’.

For use inside the home they make fantastic kitchen utensil pots or herb planters. They would have originally been used in the 19th century to preserve food such as fruits, meats or fish. They have a lovely neutral glaze which makes them perfect for flower arranging although they are not fully waterproof and must be lined with an impervious pot.

Please expect rustic imperfect condition with chips, bumps, cracks and crackle. There will likely be some repairs to the pot.
