Vintage Japanese pottery ginger pot D
A wonderful rustic vintage Japanese pottery ginger pot. Originally used to store precious food supplies such as salt, herbs, oil and ginger – their name is derived from the remains of ginger often found inside these pots. Crafted from simple stoneware, this is a wonderfully tactile and rustic pot in fabulous muted tones and embodies the essence of the wabi-sabi aesthetic. Perfect as a standalone piece, or for displaying a selection of seasonal foliage or dried stems.
These pots are all unique in finish, design and shape. There will be minimal age-related wear and tear commensurate with age. Â Please expect minor chips, cracks and dings to the surfaces, and possibly marking and staining to the glaze from their years underground. These signs of historical use should be expected and embraced as part of their unique history.
