Remnants of white paint may still be visible, remnants from previous use for storing liquids, such as olive oil.

In the garden, they must be protected from static freezing water/soil if planted. In the wintertime, if you leave them outdoors, simply turn upside down so that they cannot fill with water which will freeze (if you make a drainage hole to the bottom there is no need to do this).

If you establish a plant inside these pots simply use a plastic pot within which will allow for expansion and contraction of frozen soil and water. If you do fill the pot with soil we would recommend that you do not allow the pot and contents to freeze over winter. We recommend protecting from frost during the winter months if used in the garden.

Please expect a vintage imperfect condition. Each pot is handmade and features fabulous rustic earthy tones. Delightfully imperfect, these pots are soft, smooth and tactile to the touch.
