Rustic Antique Beam Door Stop E was reclaimed from a 150 year old barn these pieces of gnarly weathered elm would have been taken from the intersection of a buildings frame where the upright timbers joined horizontal cross member.

Each one is totally unique and could be used horizontal or upright on a console table or to helpfully keep a door open.

Each piece has been cleaned, stripped back and sanded to the bare wood to show the beautiful grain, patination and weathering

A truly unique piece of historic artwork, each one is one of a kind.

We think they look fantastic singly or in a row of two or three.

They are heavy and robust and could be used as unique door stop or simply as an object of curiosity.

In the shop we affectionately refer to these items as ‘noggins’.

A nogging (or occasionally noggin) is a strut used to give rigidity to a framework, fixed between joists or studs to their increase strength and stiffness. They are commonly used to brace floors or to stiffen timber stud frames. … In Scotland, noggings may be referred to as ‘dwangs’
