Large decorative bowl carved from a single piece of tree trunk.

Dating from the early 1900’s dough bowls were used across Europe to knead up and prove bread dough. They can still be used as such but we think of them as a decorative item.

They look super stylish on a table, loaded with fruit or vegetables, but also suit magazines, hand towels in a bathroom or books on a coffee table.

Even empty these super stylish decorative antiques are a very beautiful and sculptural item.

The bowls are hand carved from a solid tree trunk in once piece using scoops and chisels, they have a fabulously primitive feel and often have patches and visible mending to the surface. There are beautiful makers marks across the time worn surfaces. Generally rustic with signs of use and age, please expect imperfections, irregular patina and historic woodworm holes in some items.
