A Classic oil pastel nude by the artist Peter Collins. The female form was a common theme throughout Peter Collins career.
Born in 1923, Collins attended art school just before World War II. He was attached to the Education Corps and taught painting and drawing.
After the war, Collins studied at the Royal College of Art and went on to produce iconic travel posters for British Airways and British Railways. In 1975, Peter Collins and his wife acquired Stanley Studios in Chelsea. They then proceeded to fill the space with paintings, antiquities and sculptures.
