Our stunning antique officials chair is a stylishly simple yoke-back chair. This beautiful wooden chair has been smoothed with the passage of time. With its exquisite patina, it has been stripped of finish quite naturally over time and has a lovely sun-bleached appearance.

This type of chair is also known as a hat chair as the top rail was often used to hang a hat on whilst seated. These chairs are entirely regionally handmade and originate from Shanxi Province in China.  Dating from the 19th century, they are over a century old.

The high backs of these gorgeous chairs make them a real statement piece – perfect for an entrance hall or landing.

Courier Delivery

Delivery will take place via door-to-door courier because this item is too large and heavy, long or fragile to be delivered in a parcel by any of the UK parcel providers.

This service is undertaken by a one man delivery service.

Please therefore be prepared to help to move this heavy item from the van or lorry to just inside your door. When delivery takes place it will be to just inside the threshold of your home only.

The courier will not be able to carry the furniture up or down steps to access your property.

You will also need to supply a strong helper to assist on the day of delivery as removing this from the lorry is a job for two extremely strong people.

After the courier has left you will need to remove the item from its packaging when present and carry it from your doorway into your home or garden.

Delivery is added at the checkout – you will be able to view this charge before you pay.
